On Friday the 30th of August, Room 34 celebrated Father’s Day. The children invited fathers, dads, brothers, uncles, grandpas, step fathers, poppy’s and pa’s into our centre for an afternoon of food and fun activities.
The children were so excited when their guests arrived, running toward them with arms wide – before escorting them off to their activites. We had a photo booth, painting, tie making, bracelet and key chain making and story time. Followed by a marvellous spread of gourmet sandwiches prepared by Julie and Indira, our amazing kitchen staff.
Recognising and embracing the celebrations of our families and their cultures is a part of our centre philosophy. Supporting the children to plan and prepare for a special celebration deepens their understanding of their culture, the importance of these people in their lives and allows them to create life long memories.
